Reopened with style Ordrupgaard is home to a prize collection of 19th century Danish art and French Romanticism and Impressionism, including works by Ingres, Corot, Delacroix, Courbet, Manet, Degas, Renoir, Cezanne, Monet and Gauguin. The former private collection and country estate just north of Copenhagen was donated to the Danish state by the founder. Following two-year refurbishment, Ordrupgaard has recently reopened to feature a new extension designed by the world-renowned Iraqi architect Zaha Hadid. Her trademark organic design is in stark contrast to the original turn-of-the-century mansion, yet blends in naturally with the surrounding woodlands of the Royal Game Park.
